YOUTH PROJECT


A Youth Worker and a Youth Assistant, staff the centre during opening hours.

The Youth Centre is a place for young people aged 12-18 years to hang out with their friends, learn new skills, participate in activities,
meet new people and most of all have a great time

During school terms a ‘Drop In’ program is offered to young people 12—18 years. Young people can participate in pool comps, challenge each other on the X Box and Playstation, shoot hoops or just hang out and catch up with friends. The program is offered at St Clair and Erskine Park

The Learning Lounge has been established to assist youth with their homework.  The Lounge is equipped with tutors, computers, resource books and internet connection.  The Learning Lounge will be closed during Term 4 2011 for refurbishment.

Well Being Project at Ersine Park:  We have an exciting new program starting during drop - in at Erskine Park. The program will run for six weeks during each term.  You will learn how to cook a healthy breakfast and make delicious snacks that you can take to school.  Pop in to Erskine Park
Community Centre to register. 

Youth Week:  Youth Week is an opportunity to celebrate young people in the local community and will be held 13 -22 April 2012.  Youth Week aims to offer young people aged 12 -24 years of age a range of activities that focus on the positives, issues and concerns of young people in the local area.  We are holding a Penrith wide event known as The Valley Youth Festival, on Friday 20th April 2012 at Jamison Skate Parke in Penrith, all young people from St Clair, Erskine Park and surrounding areas are very welcome to come along and celebrate with other young people.  Please stay tuned for more details in our holiday program..... in the meantime you can check out www.thevalleyyouth.com

Other services provided by our youth worker include Employment Assistance, including resume writing, photocopier, computer and fax machines and Court Support.  The youth worker can also provide kids and parents with information and referral on youth related issues. 

During school holidays a number of activities, are organised at the Youth Centre, including outings, movies days,
karaoke competitions and bbqs.
